FT 2008 Anchorage

Alaska-1

The 11th International Conference on Thermochronology was held from 15-19 September 2008 at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska. For 30 years this conference has played a key role in bringing the international community of researchers together to focus on methods, practice, and applications of fission-track dating, helium dating, and other allied techniques.

FT2008 had approximately 140 participants, which includes a number of USGS geologists from the Anchorage office who were invited to attend the special session on Alaskan Tectonics. The meeting had 50 oral presentations and 70 poster presentations that were spread out over three and a half days of technical sessions
